Vidder Applications Overview

In this multimedia age, why shouldn't every public meeting, public entertainment event, and family occasion be webcast with easy-to-use, high quality tools to expand both real-time and after-the-fact access? Cost, level-of-effort, and poor quality should not discourage immersive outreach via the Web. Furthermore, one should be able to build a business or generate revenue from content they own. People shouldn't have to think too hard about how to make this happen, but rather how can to make the experience more valuable.

Vidder enables a new method of interaction over the Web that can be used by everybody, regardless of their IT or audio-visual expertise. Focused on three main values – ease of use, quality experience, and monetization/control – Vidder provides a form of multicasting that is widely deployable and useful.

These values may not be needed by everybody at all times, but they are inter-related. You can't expect to make much money broadcasting an event unless the quality is excellent. You may not want to make money by webcasting your daughter's piano recital, but you may want to make sure that only family and friends are watching. The same underlying technology that ensures only paying users are watching also ensures privacy. But you can't webcast your daughter's wedding if it requires a lot of equipment, is difficult to set up, and expensive. Nor is it useful to webcast if grandma can't easily watch it.

The Vidder solution delivers on all three values with Self Service HD Microcasting. Self-Service because it is so easy that anybody can set it up and use; HD because of the video and voice quality; and Microcasting because of the ability to target who can or cannot "tune in."
