Welcome message from Vidder
Dear Vidder Beta User
Please sign in to your personal video page with the name & password supplied to you by Vidder. Your Vidder page address is the same as your sign-in name.
Once you're in the management page, you notice that it is divided into 2 distinct portions; the top half is what the outside world see's while the bottom portion is your control panel (visible only to you). Your control panel enables you to do everything from personalizing the page to setting password access to switching between video feeds.
To broadcast live video you must download a Micro Web Server (MWS) to your PC. Thus please type in a name into the "Create id" field (e.g. MyWebCam or MyPC) and hit submit.
After downloading and installing the MWS on your PC, please click on the Vidder desktop icon. A pop-up window will appear so you can decide the uplink bandwidth, image source, aspect ratio and audio mode. If you are using a webcam you'll probably want to go with 100 Kbps with a 4:3 aspect ratio. After you hit OK your video should appear on the top half of your personal video page.
With Vidder, you can display up to 4 video streams or 1 large image using the controls in the Video Display Configuration section. You can let distant friends download a MWS and transmit video into your page by enabling External Account Access in the Vidder Account Management section.
In the next few weeks we'll be adding a lot more information on items ranging from tips for HD broadcasting to integrating Vidder into your own app. In the meantime, do not hesitate to contact Vidder if you have any questions - we're here to help!
Thanks again for being a Vidder Beta user!
Best wishes,
Vidder
Some items to note:
- The Vidder MWS only supports WinXP, Vista & Windows 7 (sorry no MAC)
-
The MWS uses Microsoft .NET 2.0 which Vidder will download if not present
-
If Vidder fails to connect, please check that your PC has IPv6 enabled
