Systems Integration Examples
Enterprise Webcasting
Current networked video content must be backhauled from an imaging device to a server where it is encoded and re-transmitted to an application server; which in turn must re-transmit the video content to the end user. For applications with many HD video streams and geographically widespread users, the current multi-hop, multi-server solution is extremely cumbersome and costly. In contrast, Vidder provides a one hop device-to-web solution for networked video applications.
Vidder's Web-based URL design provides an ideal solution to boost productivity within multi-national corporations. Vidder's corporate applications range from training to multi-party telepresence. Since Vidder's Micro Web Server (MWS) works on existing PCs, no new equipment is required to "video enable" an entire workforce.
The HD quality of Vidder makes it ideal as a productivity tool. For example, subject matter experts can be brought into a meeting irrespective of location. Individual Web streams can be protected via passwords and/or encryption to facilitate the sharing of information even to off net users.
Vidder is available as a managed service for corporations requiring a scalable webcasting solution that can be securely deployed for both in-house and externally facing applications. Vidder's URL structure makes it easy to integrate into internal Web-based applications and workflows.
HD Surveillance
Vidder offers an elegant solution to transmit high definition video images for webcast and surveillance applications. Currently, surveillance video must be backhauled from an imaging device to a server farm where it is processed, viewed, and archived. For applications with many HD video streams, the current centralized systems are extremely cumbersome and costly. Often the trade-off is to use lower resolution video, which can compromise security. Also, such solutions do not lend themselves to flexibly replicating and re-directing video streams to people in the field or experts who could really use it.
Vidder's MWS simplifies the deployment of HD surveillance cameras and enables new and valuable system flexibility. Unlike existing HD network solutions, the MWS only streams video when requested, can be remotely controlled to provide the needed resolution-of-the-moment; and leveraging local storage can provide a highly scalable HD DVR system so that HD video can be viewed after the fact as needed.
Vidder's MWS has an integrated router that enables users to access images across a WAN and LAN connection simultaneously. For example, Vidder's MWS enables Command Center personnel to monitor an emergency in HD while First Responder's access the same image on a 3G phone.
Vidder software is available under license to system integrators deploying security solutions. Vidder also provides U.S. government agencies with source code for classified projects via a partnership with a leading integrator.
